Rage Against The Machine guitarist Tom Morello has ended months of speculation by stating that the band have no intentions of heading into the studio to make a new album.
Since Rage reformed over 18 months ago to play California’s Coachella festival and a host of festival dates around the globe, bloggers have sent the rumour mill into over drive with ‘news’ of new material.
But Morello confirmed to Billboard that he feels there just isn’t enough time to for the band to get together and record, simply stating that “There are no plans for that.”
Adding: “We’ve had a wonderful year and a half of playing shows, and I don’t see any reason to not play more shows.
“The thing is, there’s only so many hours in the musical day, and mine are very occupied right now.”
Morello has confirmed that this lack of time is due to the fact that he considers his frankly dire acoustic-political-folk project, Nightwatchmen, to be the: “principal musical focus, as I see it, for the remainder of my life.”
