Garbage: New LP Details

Self-released, due in May

Garbage are poised to release their first album in seven years. Not Your Kind Of People will be released on their own label STUNVOLUME on May 14, the album will, according to the band, sound "vibe-wise" like their early 90s breakthrough records.

In a video of a recent photo shoot posted on their You Tube channel, studio-guru and drummer Butch Vig says that while not exactly sounding like their old material, the album features "anger and intensity" but also "optimism and hope."

Original guitarist and keyboardist Duke Erikson said: "Working with Garbage again was very instinctual. Like getting on a bicycle…with three other people." He adds: "We haven’t felt this good about a Garbage record since the last one!"

The band will hit the road this spring in support of the album by playing the Troxy in London on May 9th and several other headline shows and festivals throughout Europe and the U.S. with more dates to be confirmed.

"Thinking about going back on the road is both thrilling and terrifying in equal measure," said Shirley Manson. "But we’ve always enjoyed a little pain mixed in with our pleasure."
