Santigold has a new album scheduled for release this spring. Entitled Master Of My Make Believe, it’s the long-in-the-pipeline to her 2008 debut, which found her aligned with the likes of M.I.A and Diplo as an artist mining urban dance musics from across the world (admittedly, though, she’s a great deal less irritating than either).
As the first track to emerge from the record (via Pitchfork), ‘Big Mouth’ doesn’t show any great musical shift away from her earlier material. It’s rather good regardless, all bubbling low end, tightly syncopated snares and half-rapped, half-spoken vocals. You can also download it in exchange for your email address at her website.
