Kanye Makes Great Art, Says Kanye

Chicago star thinks history will prove him right with new record

Kanye West says he’s he doesn’t give a flip about whether his new record shifts any units because he’s made "great art".

Those of you who’ve yet to clap hands on a copy of fourth album 808s & Heartbreak might have a job keeping up, since the characteristically immodest West reckons he’s way ahead of the curve on this one.

"You know people sometimes don’t understand great art when they first hear it," he says, pausing to fill his lungs up with more hot air. "But I am very confident in it. Whether it sells as much as the last one, or way more, I feel like I am just successful in doing something I felt really good about."

The album was released on Monday (Nov 24) to mixed reviews. Read all about Quietus ed John Doran’s run-in with the Chicago rapper <a href=http://”http://thequietus.com/articles/00104-black-sky-thinking-kanye-west-sensitive-soul”>here.
