James Blake To Release New R&S EP

Throw your arms into the air with wanton abandon! James Blake makes a slight return to the deliciously off-kilter R&B/dubstep territory that defined his excellent early releases

Everyone’s favourite break out blubstepper James Blake is set to release a new three track 12" through R&S Records this December. Its A-side is ‘Love What Happened Here’, and the B-side consists of ‘At Birth’ and ‘Curbside’.

R&S also put out last years rather excellent, and far less mopey, CMYK and Klavierwerke EPs. The new release looks set to offer a move away from Blake’s dabbling with beardy, emotive warbling, prominently showcased on this year’s self-titled full length, and a return to his more dancefloor orientated roots.

You can listen to a radio rip of ‘Love What Happened Here’ below:

It’s hopefully a pointer toward Blake returning to the days of old, giving it the old stiff upper lip treatment and concentrating on the important things in life – chiefly putting out interesting, heavy and altogether less hangdogged electronic tracks.
