Magazine Announce New Guitarist For Tour

Apollo 440 man Noko steps in for the late John McGeoch with post-punk outfit

Magazine have announced Noko as the band’s new guitarist ahead of their February 2009 tour.

As one half of Luxuria with Howard Devoto in the late ’80s Noko shares history with the band, whose 1978 debut Real Life remains a seminal post-punk tract. Other credits to his name include a founding claim with ’90s electronica outfit Apollo 440, plus a spell performing with The Pete Shelley Group.

The musician fills the void left by John McGeoch, who passed away in his sleep in 2004 at the age of 48.

Stony-faced London poppets Ipso Facto will join the band in support for the tour, which kicks off on February 12th at London’s Forum.
