Quietus Recognized In Field Of Awesomeness

Quietus editors John [left] and Luke [right] celebrate AIM nomination by dancing to Stump

This is an artist’s interpretation of events in the Quietus office this afternoon when it was announced that we had been shortlisted for another gong.

The Association of Independent Music are holding their AIM awards on Thursday November 10 and tQ are in the last four for the Indie Champions award.

There was initially confusion and panic as Luke thought this meant he would have to start wearing an Inspiral Carpets ‘MOO!’ T shirt and John thought he would have to shave his beard off and start wearing ‘Hello Kitty’ hairslides. But of course by indie, AIM mean that we are upholding the fine traditions of the independent artist, band, shop and label (as well as running an independent site).

We’d like to say a hearty congratulations to our friend and Quietus writer, well-heeled gentleman of punk rock, John Robb who has been nominated for his Louder Than War blog and to Tom Robinson of BBC 6Music and Nathan Clark, of the Brudenell Social Club.

We’d like to thank the super righteous Julie Weir of Visible Noise, our own personal independent heroes, Lisa Meyer and Jenny Moore of Capsule, all of our writers and anyone who voted for us.
