Here at Quietus HQ, one of our favourite albums of the year so far has been Cornershop’s The Double-O Groove featuring Bubbley Kaur.
You can catch them live, performing the Jullander To Judy set at Islington Academy on Thursday for a very reasonable £15, given that the ticket gets you free access to some form of nightclub shindig afterwards.
Doors are at 7pm and support is from the psychically free range cult heroes, The Television Personalities and manning the ones and twos is Quietus Editor John Doran who will be playing soul from Johannesburg, disco from Taipei, funk from Lagos and foot tapping, head nodding tunes for bearded men and tattooed ladies everywhere.
