Mute have announced initial details of their curation of the Short Circuit Festival at the London Roundhouse this May. Liars, Laibach, The Balanescu Quartet, Alan Wilder’s Recoil, Nitzer Ebb, The Residents, Pole, T. Raumschmiere, Simon Fisher Turner with Mira Calix, Richard H Kirk, Erasure, NON, a "special guest performance" from Alison Moyet and, most intriguingly, a collaboration between Carter Tutti (an alias of Chris Carter & Cosey Fanni Tutti) and Factory Floor’s Nik Void will all play live at Short Circuit, which takes between May 13th and 14th. As well as the musical performances, you can expect talks, films, and installations, along with DJ sets by Mute founder Daniel Miller and Irmin Schmidt And Kumo. There will be more acts to be announced in coming weeks. Tickets can be purchased here, and we’d advise you get a shift on. Full details can be seen below. Mute are also linking with the brilliant Raster-Noton label, who are opening the weekend on May 12th with performances by Ryuichi Sakamoto, Alva Noto, Byetone and more. "The Raster-Noton / Mute Sound Halo will consist of sound loops created by artists from both labels and will play overnight from 12 May to link the two events", we are told.
