Manuel Göttsching to play his first UK gig in over ten years at Glasgow’s Stereo, tomorrow, Saturday 11 December.
The guitar and electronics genius first rose to prominence as leader of kosmische musik groups Ash Ra Tempel and Ashra, and subsequently released the classic proto-trance album E2-E4 in 1984. Arguably more relevant than ever, with a new generation of artists, such as Emeralds and Oneohtrix Point Never acknowledging his influence, along with long established artists such as Carl Craig, James Murphy and Basic Channel, Göttsching is revered as a founding influence in the development of modern electronic music.
With a huge worldwide following, and used to performing to audiences of thousands; this Glasgow gig – staged by Men And Machines – marks a rare opportunity to hear him playing in an intimate setting.
