Glastonbury Weather Forecast: Dry! Wet! Who Knows?

Forecasts disagree on details, but predict dry weather

With Glastonbury now just days away, and the Festival campsites opening tomorrow morning, thousands of punters are wondering whether to pack cagoules or parasols. According to Metcheck, Friday will be clear and warm, with cloud moving in on Saturday. Saturday night might see some rain, as may Sunday – a potential 6.1 mm then. The BBC, by contrast, predicts sunny intervals on Friday, and full sun on Saturday, with temperatures of 25 degrees. The Met Office, meanwhile, promises that the weekend will see the weather "Remaining largely dry and very warm into the weekend with a continued risk of sunburn. However, there is a chance of an isolated heavy shower by Sunday. Winds will be light throughout." Luke’s iPhone, meanwhile, says it’ll be sunny, with no rain. He advises you don’t believe it. Also, given the geographical location of the Festival in a valley in rain-prone Western England, it has its own microclimate and may will piss down on the site when the Tor across the way remains as dry as a bone.

Even though they are eschewing Glastonbury to attend a cheese and vintage shoehorn fair in the Cotswolds, Quietus pilots John and Luke here don their most sturdy festival apparel to perform an ancient weather dance with the aim of keeping the rain away:
