Slayer UK Shows Back On!

Third time lucky for metal band

Quietus editor John Doran celebrates this morning as news reaches our offices that Slayer’s postponed UK shows are back on and have now been rescheduled for May.

The tour dates were originally cancelled when bassist and vocalist Tom Araya underwent surgery as a result of being diagnosed with Cervical Radiculopathy.

Slayer manager Rick Sales said: "I think that his just making the decision to have the surgery has helped improve the way he feels.

"While no one wants to go under the knife, his doctors are very confident about this procedure taking care of the problem once and for all."

All tickets for the original dates will still be valid. The rescheduled shows are as follows:

May 2010

May 26 O2 Academy, Leeds

May 27 Barrowland, Glasgow

May 29 O2 Academy, Birmingham

May 30 O2 Academy, Manchester

May 31 Rock City, Nottingham

June 2 HMV Forum, London

June 3 HMV Forum, London
