The Quietus has had three articles recognised by the latest edition of the Best Music Writing 2009.
The series, edited by Daphne Carr with Greil Marcus assuming the role of guest editor for the 2009 issue, recognises the finest examples of music journalism each year.
Three articles from The Quietus were selected by Daphne Carr in the ‘Other Notable Music Writing of 2008’ – making it the only other UK publication apart from The Guardian and The Observer to be selected.
Quietus editor John Doran’s piece ‘Kanye West, Sensitive Soul’ was one of the pieces chosen, along with ‘The Joy Division Industry’ by Chris Roberts and ‘Nick Sanders – An Obituary, An Appreciation’ by Ian Harrison.
