New York label PTP has released a new digital-only compilation through Bandcamp, titled RESIST COLONIAL POWER BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY.
Spanning 95 tracks, proceeds from sales of the release will be split evenly between a GoFundMe campaign supporting medical professionals in Gaza, and Cultural Capital Haiti, a charity supporting grassroots projects that are attempting to address urgent problems in Haiti. The compilation features tracks by the likes of Algiers, Yaeji, E L U C I D, Kevin Richard Martin & KMRU, rRoxymore, Dis Fig, Rachika Nayar, The Body, and many others.
In a statement accompanying the release, PTP said: "This compilation exists as a collaborative declaration against genocide and global occupation, a gesture towards resistance, a concerted action in support of the people who are moving on a path to their own collective liberations in the face of the western imperialist project.
"This is not about charity. The intention and hope is that this compilation inspires while also providing another space for us – poets of word and sound – to actively make pace against those who perpetuate death, as the artist’s role is that of a truth teller."
RESIST COLONIAL POWER BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY is out now on PTP.
