Front 242 Plot Final Tour

The EBM legends will play a series of live shows across Europe and the US between this August and January 2025

Front 242 have revealed that they are to cease playing live after a final run of shows later this year.

Revealing the news via social media, the EBM pioneers said the shows will take them across Europe and the US. Kicking off at Belgium’s Lokerse Feesten on August 4, the group’s final tour will subsequently take them to cities such as Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Dallas and Chicago in the US, and Hamburg, Munich, Stockholm, Paris, London, Barcelona and Madrid in Europe. The final show is currently scheduled for January 25, 2025 at Brussels’ Ancienne Belgique.

"It is with a mix of emotions that Front 242 announce their final concerts," read a statement shared by the Belgian band. "We sadly close a great adventure of some 40 years [of] amazing feelings shared with our wonderful audience. We realise that stopping now with a great image and full energy is what everybody would like to remember."

Founded in Aarschot, Belgium in 1981, the group are credited with combining elements of post-punk and industrial music to pioneer the sound commonly known as electronic body music (EBM). They released their debut album, Geography, in 1982, and have released eight studio albums across their time together as a band.
