Tkay Maidza Unveils First Album For 4AD, ‘Sweet Justice’

It follows on from her 2021 debut EP with the label, 'Last Year Was Weird, Vol. 3'

Tkay Maidza has shared details of her debut full-length for 4AD, Sweet Justice.

The successor to 2016’s Tkay LP and a follow-up to her debut with 4AD, 2021’s Last Year Was Weird, Vol. 3 EP, the 14-track record features production from Canadian producers Kaytranada and Stint, as well as Australia’s Flume. To mark the album’s announcement, which follows on from the recent unveiling of lead track ‘Silent Assassin’, Maidza has shared a new cut, ‘Ring-A-Ling’. You can watch a video for the song above.

"Sweet Justice was a way for me to channel my emotions from what I’ve experienced in the last two years," Maidza said in a statement. "It’s a diary of things and thoughts I’ve kept to myself. Making the record was a healing experience and I’m grateful to have worked with producers who have inspired me throughout my career."

4AD will release Sweet Justice on November 3, 2023.
