Light In The Attic Lines Up Reissues Of Four Betty Davis Albums

The run of reissues will include the first-ever vinyl pressing of 'Crashin' From Passion'

Light In The Attic is reissuing four albums by the late Betty Davis.

The reissues cover Davis’ 1973 self-titled debut, 1974’s They Say I’m Different, the 2009-released, 1976-recorded Is It Love Or Desire?, and Crashin’ From Passion, the product of Davis’ final 1979 studio sessions which has, until now, never been given an official vinyl pressing. Davis collaborated with Light In The Attic on all four reissues before her death last year.

The reissues of Betty Davis, They Say I’m Different and Crashin’ From Passion include booklets comprising rare photos from the era of their respective recording, as well as lyrics and new liner notes, containing Davis’ final interviews, by her close friend, the writer and ethnomusicologist Danielle Maggio. Is It Love Or Desire?, meanwhile, includes liner notes from journalist Oliver Wang.

Light In The Attic will release Betty Davis, They Say I’m Different, Is It Love Or Desire? and Crashin’ From Passion on August 25, 2023.
