Blawan and Pariah, otherwise known as UK techno duo Karenn, have debuted a new alias, Persher.
Their first release under the new moniker, a seven-track mini-album called Man With The Magic Soap, will be released through Thrill Jockey. The new record sees the duo explore "heavier sonics" compared to past Karenn material, according to press materials. You can listen to the album’s title track just below.
In addition to a digital release next month, the mini-album will be made available as a limited edition CD, with some of those set to come with a printed comic book featuring illustrations that respond to each of the tracks by acclaimed illustrator George Addy.
Man With The Magic Soap is Blawan and Pariah’s first full-length album together since 2019’s Grapefruit Regret, released as Karenn.
Thrill Jockey will release Man With The Magic Soap on October 21, 2022.
