Horse Lords have a new album on the way.

Spanning seven tracks, Comradely Objects is the Baltimore band’s first record for RVNG Intl., and follows on from 2020’s The Common Task. The new album draws its title from Imagine No Possessions, a 2008 book by art historian Christina Kaier on Russian Constructivists, who shun the status of capitalist art in favour of more utilitarian objects. You can watch a video for lead track ‘Mess Mend’ above.

Speaking further about the book’s relation to the album’s name, the band said in a statement: "The comradely object should promote collective, egalitarian ideals. They tended toward simple, unadorned forms that emphasised utility and foregrounded the material. Comradely Objects works through what this means for the material of sound, for music, for the album, and for artistic production in the 21st century."

RVNG Intl. will release Comradely Objects on November 24, 2022.
