Optimo’s JD Twitch is releasing a compilation of ’80s Japanese music.

Out next month through his own Cease & Desist imprint, the 14-track Polyphonic Cosmos: Sonic Innovations In Japan (1980-1986) collects tracks from key Japanese acts such as Ryuichi Sakamoto, Yasuaki Shimizu, Pecker and Geinoh Yamashirogumi. The release was pieced together from music that JD Twitch discovered on visits to DJ in Japan, and follows on from Cease & Desist’s inaugural record, the 2020 compilation Join The Future – UK Bleep & Bass 1988-91. Listen to clips of all of Polyphonic Cosmos‘ tracks above, and find a full tracklist for the release via Cease & Desist’s Bandcamp page.

Cease & Desist will release Polyphonic Cosmos: Sonic Innovations In Japan (1980-1986) on July 1, 2022.
