Pixies Detail New Album, ‘Doggerel’

It's their fourth studio album since first reuniting in 2004

Pixies have shared details of their eighth studio album, Doggerel.

Out in September, the 12-track album is the band’s fourth record since they first reunited in 2004. It came about after vocalist/guitarist Black Francis headed into the studio with producer Tom Dalgety with 40 songs already prepared, before finishing up the record with the rest of the band. You can watch a lyric video for lead track ‘There’s A Moon On’ above.

Speaking about Doggerel in a statement, Black Francis said: "We’re trying to do things that are very big and bold and orchestrated. The punky stuff, I really like playing it but you just cannot artificially create that shit. There’s another way to do this, there’s other things we can do with this extra special energy that we’re encountering."

Infectious Music will release Doggerel on September 30, 2022.
