Stephen Mallinder Details New Album, ‘Tick Tick Tick’

It will be released by Dais this July

Cabaret Voltaire co-founder Stephen Mallinder has shared details of a new album, called Tick Tick Tick.

Due out in July, it’s his second album for the Dais label and was recorded across a handful of sessions at MemeTune Studios in Cornwall with frequent collaborator Benge. In a statement, Mallinder said there was no specific aesthetic set out for the record, beyond "cowbell on every track, and entirely no reverb." Listen to lead track ‘Hush’ above.

Speaking further about the record, Mallinder said "rhythm is the default, the bedrock, the building block – even the melodies are rhythmic. Music should draw you in; lyrics should make you think. Most interpretation is misinterpretation."

Dais Records will release Tick Tick Tick on July 15, 2022.
