Beverly Glenn-Copeland Details Remixes Album

The US artist's 1986 album 'Keyboard Fantasies' has been reworked by Arca, Ana Roxanne and more for the release

Beverly Glenn-Copeland’s classic album Keyboard Fantasies is to be the focus of a new remix album, Keyboard Fantasies Reimagined.

The new release, due out in December, will see various tracks from the album receive the remix treatment from the likes of Arca, Julia Holter, Ana Roxanne and Blood Orange. Above, you can listen to Ana Roxanne’s take on ‘Old Melody’.

Speaking about the remix, Roxanne says: "I really enjoyed the process of recreating ‘Old Melody’ using my voice. I felt as though I could find my own interpretation of this piece through this reworking, with no lyrics or any specific words in the title to work with. Beverly Glenn-Copeland’s work and artistry have been a huge inspiration for me: very beautiful music that took its time to blossom into the world."

Originally released as a cassette in 1986, Beverly Glenn-Copeland’s Keyboard Fantasies became a cult favourite among collectors in the years that followed, fetching significant sums of money on the resale market. It’s since been reissued by the labels Invisible City Editions (2016), Séance Centre (2017) and Transgressive (2021).

Transgressive is also due to release a career retrospective compilation of Glenn-Copeland’s music, Transmissions: The Music Of Beverly Glenn-Copeland, later this month. You can find his contribution to tQ’s Baker’s Dozen series here.

Transgressive will release Keyboard Fantasies Reimagined on December 10, 2021.
