Galya Bisengalieva Details Remix LP, ‘Aralkum Aralas’

Jlin and Moor Mother are among the artists to remix tracks from Bisengalieva's most recent album

Galya Bisengalieva’s 2020 album Aralkum is getting the remix treatment on a new release, titled Aralkum Aralas.

Released through One Little Independent, Aralkum was billed as a concept album about the shrinking of the Aral sea. Aralkum Aralas (aralas means ‘mixed’ or ‘reworked’ in Bisengalieva’s native language of Kazakh) sees the violinist invite the likes of Jlin, Moor Mother, Coby Sey and Nazira to remix tracks from the original record. Bisengalieva personally selected artists whose work she felt would resonate with the source of the concept. You can check out Jlin’s take on ‘Barsa-Kelmes’ above.

One Little Independent will release Aralkum Aralas on October 15, 2021
