Dutch festival Rewire has finalised plans for its online edition, taking place next month.
Among the final confirmations are a series of workshops and a film programme. As part of the former, Rian Treanor will host Inter-symetric 7, a workshop that will see him using bespoke music production software to give audiences an insight into real-time remote collaboration. There will be an open call for one of the sessions to develop a new collaborative performance, and you can apply for Treanor’s workshop in advance here.
The film programme will see Rewire team up with Norient Film Festival to screen a number of short films focusing on a number of artists’ thoughts on 2021. Gabber Modus Operandi, Emma NZioka, and Adythia Utama & Riar Rizaldi are among the artists featured.
As part of its radio programming, Rewire combines with Glasgow-based art radio station Radiophrenia for a series of audio projects, and Dutch percussion ensemble Slagwerk Den Haag will also present a number of short performances as part of their Loading Dock Sessions series.
Rewire has previously confirmed live-streamed performances from Elza Soares, KMRU, Kate NV, Aïsha Devi, Lee Gamble and more. There will also be specially commissioned collaborations debuted for the festival, between Yasuaki Shimizu and Kara-Lis Coverdale, and Robert Aiki Aubrey Lowe and Zeena Parkins, among others.
Rewire will take place from May 5 to 9, 2021. Find more information here.
