Nicolás Jaar And Dave Harrington Detail New DARKSIDE LP

It follows on from the duo's 2013 debut album

DARKSIDE, the duo of Nicolás Jaar and Dave Harrington, have announced their first album since 2013.

Spiral follows on from the duo’s debut album, Psychic, and sees them fully relaunching the project after going on hiatus in 2014. Above, you can listen to lead track ‘The Limit’.

The pair began work on Spiral in the summer of 2018, renting a small house in New Jersey for a week and making a song a day. They finished six songs from the album during this initial session, with the remaining music completed in the ensuing year and a half.

"From the beginning, DARKSIDE has been our jam band," Jaar says of the project. "Something we did on days off. When we reconvened, it was because we really couldn’t wait to jam together again."

Harrington adds: "It felt like it was time again. We do things in this band that we would never do on our own. DARKSIDE is the third being in the room that just kind of occurs when we make music together."

Matador will release Spiral on July 23, 2021.
