Wyndow Share Debut Single, ‘Take My Picture’

'Take My Picture' is one of a set of songs that the two worked on together in isolation during the coronavirus pandemic

Singer-songwriters Lavinia Blackwall and Laura J Martin have formed a new psychedelic pop band called Wyndow.

The first track from the duo, ‘Take My Picture’, can be heard above. It’s one of a set of songs that the two worked on together through periods of isolation during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Liverpool-based Martin and Clydebank-based Blackwall, who plays in Trembling Bells, first met on the bill of the Moseley Folk Festival in Birmingham, and bonded over the music of Robert Wyatt. After collaborating on a cover of Wyatt’s ‘Free Will And Testament’ at the beginning of the pandemic they decided to expand the project, and are currently working on an album.

"I see this project as a set of musical postcards sent across the wires from Liverpool to Clydebank," Martin said. "The cards arrive rain-damaged and dog-eared on the other side and end up in new fantastical shapes."

‘Take My Picture’ is out now.
