An exhibition focusing on Grace Jones’ image and performance style is coming to Nottingham Contemporary this autumn.
Grace Before Jones: Camera, Disco, Studio sits at the intersection between "fan-fiction, study and biography" according to the art gallery. It will look at Jones’ artistic collaborations while exploring ideas of Black image-making and gender binarism, as well as the music, design and fashion that has been an essential part of Jones’ career.
Alongside Jones’ material, there will be artwork featured from figures such as Andy Warhol, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Robert Mapplethorpe, Lynn Goldsmiths, and Roland Barthes.
Grace Before Jones: Camera, Disco, Studio is scheduled to run from September 26, 2020 to January 3, 2021, but is subject to change due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Grace Jones’ curated Meltdown festival is scheduled to take place at London’s Southbank Centre next year after being postponed from this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. She will be joined by the likes of Solange, Peaches and Jimmy Cliff.
