Sunn O))) have released three collection of production demos captured at LA’s 606 Studios.
Available from today via the group’s Bandcamp page, the demos emerged from three days of preproduction sessions that the band held in June 2018 in preparation for another recording session at the Electrical Audio studio in Chicago with Steve Albini, which birthed last year’s Life Metal and Pyroclasts albums.
The demos have been made available to coincide with Bandcamp today (June 19) donating its full share of sales to the NAACP Legal Defense Fund. Sunn O))) themselves will be donating the remaining proceeds from sales of these rehearsal demos to ACTBLUE’s campaign which splits donations between 70+ community bail funds, mutual aid funds, and racial justice organisers.
"Sunn O))) stands in solidarity with the Black Lives Matters movement and the revolutionary movement, the demonstrations and protests in the United States and around the world," the band said in a statement shared today. "We stand in solidarity against the police state, police brutality, against systemic social, institutional racism and bigotry, and are vehemently antiracist and antifascist in our morals. We say fuck you to the horrendous Donald Trump administration and their responses, perhaps the worst government the USA has ever had."
The release of this latest round of demos follows on from three more studio sessions of rehearsal demos for Life Metal and Pyroclasts which the band released via Bandcamp last month.
Life Metal 606 Production Demos is out now.
