TUSK Festival Takes Its 2020 Plans Online

Having made their first line-up announcement in March, the organisers of the Gateshead festival have now announced new plans for a virtual edition of the event

TUSK Festival has announced plans to host an online edition of the event later this year.

Organisers of the Gateshead festival revealed in March that the likes of Deathprod and Whistling Arrow were due to play October’s event at Sage Gateshead. Those plans have now however been cancelled as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, but those who were set to play will instead take part in two weeks of virtual programming instead, alongside a number of newly announced artists.

Confirmed for Tusk Virtual 2020 so far are Jim O’Rourke & Eiko Ishibashi; Nihiloxica; Blóm; Roscoe Mitchell; OOIOO; Yeah You; and Angel Bat Dawid, in addition to the previously revealed Deathprod; Horse Lords; Maja S.K. Ratkje; Lump Hammer; and Sarah Hennies.

The festival also promises an "enhanced version" of the annual film programme featuring nightly midnight movie selections, in addition to talks and discussions from people across the music community, guest DJ mixes and a dig into the TUSK archives.

Tusk Virtual will take place from September 28 to October 11, 2020. For the full details, head here.
