Jay Electronica Teases New Album

He says the long-awaited LP will be out next month

Jay Electronica has shared a series of tweets suggesting that he will release a new album next month.

Promise of a new album has loomed for more than a decade, with him even titling one record, Act II: Patents of Nobility (The Turn), and sharing a tracklist that featured JAY-Z, Kanye West and Charlotte Gainsbourg, back in 2012. It ultimately never materialised.

Writing on Twitter, the rapper suggested that the album would be called A Written Testimony, and revealed that it was recorded over 40 days and 40 nights, starting on December 26 of 2019. He also hinted that it would be released in 40 days from posting the series of tweets, which is March 18.

No further information is yet available on the album, but it will be his first since 2007’s Act I: Eternal Sunshine (The Pledge) mixtape. In the time since that debut release, he’s shared occasional tracks via SoundCloud and collaborated with the likes of JAY-Z and DOOM.
