WATCH: Wrangler Video & New Album

Wrangler are back with their funkiest yet most dystopian record to date...

Electronic synth trio Wrangler have announced a new album to be released at the end of Winter next year called A Situation and have trailed it with a video for new single ‘Anthropocene’, which you can watch above.

The group, made up of Stephen Mallinder, Ben Edwards and Phill Winter, put their third album out on Bella Union on February 28, 2020.

The album is noticeably darker in its themes than earlier LPs and its paranoid and prophetic tones probably owe more to the mind-set of Cabaret Voltaire than LA Spark (2014) and White Glue (2016), but this time Mal’s lyrics are about societal collapse, fully automated AI state surveillance, the multiple failures of the internet and how we’ve come to inherit the world that JG Ballard predicted… although early indications are that it’s their funkiest record to date.

Wrangler have some live dates planned for early Spring next year.
