LISTEN: Pelada On PAN

The Montreal duo debut on PAN with an album that blends high BPMs and subject matters such as patriarchy and government surveillance

Movimiento Para Cambio is the debut album from Pelada, a duo from Montreal comprised of vocalist Chris Vargas and producer Tobias Rochman.

Stepping out on PAN, Pelada pair perreo and Kuduro-indebted rhythms, as well as bumping house music, with Spanish vocals that touch on subjects such as sexual harassment, patriarchal society and government surveillance.

Premiering above from the album is ‘Asegura’, which touches on the latter subject of surveillance and corporate control via Vargas’ lyrics. Underneath them, Rochman’s production draws on gabber-esque hard kick drums and rave-y synths.

PAN will release Movimiento Para Cambio on October 4.
