'fig 3' features on the first collaborative record from the pair

Ben Vince and Jacob Samuel are no strangers to collaboration. The former makes up part of London-based experimentalists Housewives and has worked with Joy O, Mica Levi and Charles Hayward, amongst others, in recent years, while the latter has worked closely with Klein and Bianca Scout on various releases.

On I’ll Stick Around, the pair come together on record for the first time for four tracks that channel free jazz and see Vince and Samuel get to grips solely with one instrument each: the saxophone and piano respectively.

Premiering above is ‘fig 3’ from the release, a five-minute freeform piece that serves as good an in-road into the full record as any, the duo carrying over from other releases their fondness of sharing unedited, improvised work.

I’ll Stick Around will be released digitally and on 12" via First Terrace Records on September 27. Vince and Samuel will launch the album at London’s St. Giles’ Church on September 25. For more information on that show, and to get tickets, head here.
