Function has announced details of his second solo artist album, Existenz. You can see a teaser trailer for the record above.
Set for release through Tresor’s in-house label, the album features recordings made between 2016 and 2019 and is described in a press release as a "step away from the corporeal techno of the last years, as a reaction to traumas Function had during all his life". Chicago house pioneer Robert Owens features on two tracks.
Existenz follows on from Function’s debut solo LP, Incubation, which came out through Ostgut Ton in 2013, and Games Have Rules, the album he made in collaboration with Vatican Shadow and released in 2014 through Hospital Productions.
Tresor will release Existenz on November 29. It will be premiered as part of a live audiovisual set at Berlin Atonal this Sunday (September 1).
