Ata Kak & More For Weatherall Fest

DJ and producer commandeers French castle this September

Ata Kak is among artists and writers heading to the walled Medieval city of Carcassonne, south west France, for this year’s Convenanza Festival. Helmed by Andrew Weatherall and now in its seventh year, the event takes place on 27th and 28th September at the Château Comtal, and features sets by the producer and DJ legend as well as performances from Ata Kak, Curses, Fantastic Twins, and Ethiopian multi-instrumentalist Hailu Mergia. Also on the bill is David Keenan in conversation with Andrew Weatherall, and our own Luke Turner talking about his book Out Of The Woods with Lee Brackstone.

At the festival, Weatherall will be playing in his Love From Outer Space collaboration with Sean Johnston as well as opening sets under the anything goes Music’s Not For Everyone umbrella. Throughout the weekend, Swedish artist Ekta AKA Daniel Götesson (<a href="http://www.ekta.nu/" target="out"?>info here) will project visuals onto the ancient castle walls. You can find out more and buy tickets for the festival at the Convenanza website. Find out more about all the artists playing here and read a Quietus article on Ata Kak here.
