Manchester To Get New 10,000-Capacity Venue

Broadwick Live will open new culture venue Depot this summer

Broadwick Live, the organisation behind London’s Printworks and the recently-opened Drumsheds, is to open a new 10,000-capacity venue in Manchester this August.

The venue, called Depot, is being billed as a culture venue and will be situated at the Mayfield site next to Manchester Piccadilly station. It’s the result of a collaboration between Broadwick Live and The Mayfield Partnership, which comprises regeneration specialist U+I, Manchester City Council, Transport for Greater Manchester and LCR who are collectively overseeing a £1 billion-plus regeneration of the 30-acre Mayfield site.

The venue is expected to be in use for the next five years, and will comprise a main performance space, as well as two smaller areas for free-to-attend community events as well as rehearsal and studio space for local artists.

Depot will launch with Manchester Pride Live on August 24 and 25. Find out more about the venue on its website.
