Utrecht’s Le Guess Who? festival has confirmed the first 87 acts making up its line-up for this year, including appearances from Deerhunter, Gruff Rhys, Cate Le Bon, Acid Mothers Temple and Visible Cloaks, Yoshio Ojima & Satsuki Shibano.
The festival previously confirmed that Jenny Hval, The Bug, Moon Duo, Patrick Higgins, Fatoumata Diawara and Iris van Herpen & Salvador Breed would all each curate part of this year’s bill, and now a number of their picks have been revealed also.
Jenny Hval has invited Sarah Davachi, Felicia Atkinson, Lolina, Richard Youngs, Lone Taxidermist and more, and will also present a new performance of her own called ‘The Practice of Love’, which will see her come together with a multi-national ensemble taking in experimental musicians, vocalists, dancers and video artists.
The Bug’s curated programme includes Godflesh, King Midas Sound, the world premiere of a collaboration between Kevin Martin himself and Hatis Noit, Jah Shaka, ZONAL featuring Moor Mother, Mala, Earth, Rabih Beaini, Drew McDowall’s Time Machines, Slikback and more.
Joining Moon Duo’s programme will be Idris Ackamoor & The Pyramids, Liz Harris’ Nivhek project, Mary Lattimore, Michele Mercure, Bbymutha, Sonic Boom and more.
Patrick Higgins will be joined by Tyondai Braxton, Stine Janvin, LEYA, Mariel Roberts, Vicky Chow, Conrad Tao and more.
The curated programmes of Fatoumata Diawara and Iris van Herpen & Salvador Breed will be announced in the coming months, alongside the rest of the extensive line-up.
