Tim Hecker Announces Companion Album To Last LP

Tim Hecker's next album is a companion to his 2018 LP Konoyo

Tim Hecker has announced a new album, titled Anoyo. You can check a teaser clip above.

Intended as a companion LP to last year’s Konoyo, which took inspiration from gagaku music, the music featured on the album comes from the same sessions at that 2018 record. The gagaku influences of Konoyo are therefore carried over to Anoyo, which translates to "the world over there."

Hecker also followed his 2011 album Ravedeath, 1972 with a companion record the following year titled Dropped Pianos. Anoyo is set for release via Kranky on May 10. He plays Edinburgh’s Summerhall on April 2 for a solo performance, while he will be joined by The Konoyo Ensemble for a set at this summer’s Primavera Sound in Barcelona.
