caroline have shared a brand new single, titled ‘Total Euphoria.
Out now, the new cut marks the first new material from the band in three years and sees vocalists Jasper Llewellyn and Magdalena McLean sing in unison while the rest of the band provide trombone, bass clarinet, harmonium and violin accompaniment. You can watch a video for the song below.
In a collective statement, caroline said: “The first iteration of this song was played as a three (Mike, Casper and Jasper) in 2020 while we were writing our first album. It was a similar style to the guitars in the back half of ‘Natural Death’ – off-kilter / syncopated – but played much wonkier and messier, and then with a broken rock beat kind of erupting at different moments. It somehow didn’t quite fit with the music we were writing / recording at the time but there was a kernel in there of something we felt we would want to explore later.”
The band have additionally confirmed new UK tour dates, adding to their upcoming show at Rewire festival in The Hague next month. They will be heading to Bristol, Falmouth, London, Cardiff, Manchester, Glasgow and Leeds between May 31 and June 8. Find the full list of gigs here.
