The Beta Band Reform for UK and North America Shows

They're also reissuing 1998's The Three E.P.'s in a deluxe vinyl set

The Beta Band have reunited for a run of shows across the UK and North America later this year.

The tour will feature the classic lineup of Steve Mason (guitar / vocals), Richard Greentree (bass), John Maclean (samples / keyboard) and Robin Jones (drums), and will mark their first shows since splitting in late 2004.

Starting on September 25 at Glasgow’s Barrowland, they will go on to play shows in Leeds, Bristol, Nottingham, London and Manchester over the course of the following 10 days. Following that, they will head to North America, kicking off a run of dates on October 12 at Vancouver’s Commodore Ballroom. The tour on the continent will take in 14 shows in total, and take them to Los Angeles, Chicago, Detroit, Toronto, Boston, New York and a number of other locations.

Tickets for the tour go on pre-sale at 10am on Wednesday (March 5), with sign up available here. General sale begins at 10am on Friday (March 7).

In a collective statement, the band said: “The Beta Band, as everyone knows, is an institution, like Bedlam, or the RSPCA, and as such has its own indelible stain on the bedsheet of Western culture. It was the great John Noakes who said, ‘You have to shake it out at least once every couple of decades, if you want to know what the moths did.’ So with both those facts in mind, we realise the time has come to show the wall the Luminol, kill the lights and hit the UV.”

Additionally, the band have unveiled a deluxe vinyl reissue of their 1998 release The Three E.P.’s, which collects the first three EP releases by the band: Champion Versions, The Patty Patty Sound and Los Amigos del Bata Bandidos. The new edition will be available on 2×12-inch 180g vinyl with inner sleeves that feature the original cover artwork of the three EPs.

Because Music will release The Three E.P.’s on July 11, 2025.
