SHAPE+ Artist Otay:Onii Releases Album, ‘True Faith Ain’t Blind’

The Chinese artist's latest album combines opera with Chinese folk music

Haining-born, Berlin-based artist otay:onii, who is among the SHAPE+ roster of artists for 2024/25, has released a new album, True Faith Ain’t Blind.

Spanning eight tracks, it’s mostly acoustic and combines elements of opera with Chinese folk music. You can listen to the full record below, and purchase it on Bandcamp.

Otay:onii will play a number of live shows over the next month in support of the album’s release, including sets at Zagreb’s ZEZ Festival (October 12), Durbe’s ZEMLIKA (October 19) and Utrecht’s Le Guess Who? (November 8). Find out more about the artist via her dedicated SHAPE+ page here.
