Nine albums featuring music from films by Japanese animation studio Studio Ghibli are to be reissued on vinyl for the first time.
All of the music on the albums is composed by Studio Ghibli’s longtime music director Joe Hisaishi. Amongst them is the first score he ever made for them, for Nausicaä of the Valley of Wind in 1983.
Also amongst the reissues are Castle in the Sky from 1986) and My Neighbour Totoro from 1987. Music produced for all three films will be spread across the nine releases which will be made available on November 3 as part of Japan’s Record Day. The reissues will be released by Tokuma.
