Beloved Mixes Database MixesDB Relaunched as New Website

Mixes.wiki is online now

The long-running mixes and tracklists database MixesDB has been relaunched on a new website, Mixes.wiki.

The new project has come about after a new team of people worked with the former owner of MixesDB to take over the code and data for the site, and upgrade it to all the latest versions of the required software to keep the database online.

A post shared via MixesDB’s website last month said the database would go offline for good on June 29. “The website code is completely outdated and cannot be run on modern servers anymore,” the note had said. “The code ran into a dead corner and is not update-able anymore without months of enormous coding effort. And since ads went towards zero months ago and donation models failed years ago, I decided it’s better to shut it down now than later.”

Launched in December 2006, MixesDB’s database has been built up via the contributions of its users. It catalogues DJ mixes, radio shows, podcasts and other set recordings, often alongside full or partial tracklists. It will now continue in that form via its new base of Mixes.wiki, which you can access here.
