Le Guess Who? has announced the first wave of acts playing its 17th edition this November.

Taking place across various venues in Utrecht, the four-day event will once again welcome a cast of guest curators to help shape the lineup. Arooj Aftab, Bo Ningen, Crystallmess, DARKSIDE, Mabe Fratti and the South London-based record label Touching Bass will all handpick artists to play at this year’s festival.

Arooj Aftab‘s curation includes blues poet aja monet; Egyptian singer Dina El Wedidi; and multi-instrumentalist neo-soul artist Meshell Ndegeocello. Bo Ningen, meanwhile, will welcome Still House Plants; Klara Lewis, Nic Colk Void & Pedro Maia; and GAISTER, a collective consisting of soprano vocalist Olivia Salvadori, Bo Nigen drummer Akihide Monna and London artist Coby Sey.

Crystallmess has invited Kim Gordon, Blackhaine, RP Boo and Nazar to play at the festival, while DARKSIDE, the project of Nicolás Jarr and Dave Harrington, will welcome Iranian artist Cinna Peyghamy; trumpeter Wadada Leo Smith; jalatarangam player and double-bassist ganavya; and Eli Keszler.

Mabe Fratti’s curation places a focus on Mexican and South American acts who have influenced her, including Germán Bringas; Colombian folk group Los Gaiteros de San Jactino; and queer Latinx group Blanco Teta. Finally, Errol and Alex Rita, the London-based DJs behind Touching Bass, will celebrate the Jamaican roots of sound system culture with sets from King Jammy and Aba Shanti-I, among others.

Looking more widely at Le Guess Who?’s music programme for 2024, the festival will also take in sets from The Body & Dis Fig; Kevin Richard Martin & KMRU; Theo Parrish; Tropical Fuck Storm; Rafael Toral; Lord Spikeheart; E L U C I D; Tashi Wada; and Demdike Stare; among others.

Further names will be added to the bill over the course of the coming months.
