Jarvis Cocker To Play Small UK Shows

Jarvis Cocker and his band will play a series of mysterious small shows in the UK later this month

Jarvis Cocker is set to play a series of small shows around the UK later this month, accompanied by a backing band.

The band consists of Serafina Steer on harp and keyboards, Emma Smith on violin, Andrew McKinney on bass and Adam Betts handling drums. The short tour follows a one-off show at Sigur Ros’ festival in Iceland at the end of last year, with the band now wanting to present what they worked on for that show to a home audience.

"Most of the songs are new but some will be familiar," says a press release announcing the shows. It also suggests that gig-goers "wear the appropriate clothing". The shows kick off on March 26 at Brighton’s Patterns before going on to London’s Moth Club (March 27), Ramsgate Music Hall (March 28), Deaf Institute in Manchester (April 3), Liverpool’s Williamson’s Tunnels (April 4) and a final pair of shows at the Peak Cavern in Castleton near Sheffield on April 6 and 7.
