Von Haze share fuzzy video for 'Lazuli' taken from their upcoming record

VII is the new record from Von Haze, the duo made up of Katherine Kin and Travis Caine who debuted in 2010 with an EP released via Hippos In Tanks.

Their latest release sees them set up shop on Richard Fearless’ Drone record label, with the record moving away from the techno and acid offerings that have made up much of the label’s previous releases from the likes of Factory Floor’s Gabriel Gurnsey and Fearless himself. On VII, Von Haze gravitate towards a gloomier, suitably drone-like sound.

Premiering above is the video for lead track ‘Lazuli’ which depicts various filtered shots of landscapes as well as glimpses of Kin and Caine themselves. The record itself was recorded by using full takes of synthesisers and guitar feedback to create repetitive melodies as a nod to the tradition of ragas.

The record is produced by Richard Fearless and released tomorrow (October 13). As an accompanying press release explains, "each song was written for a specific power centre in the body and to engage both active and passive effects of sustained and concentrated sound".
