Doc’n Roll will return to London for its fourth edition this November setting up shop for two weeks, and bringing with it a programme of music documentaries on the likes of John Coltrane and Årabrot amongst many others.
Cocks and Crosses: The Music that Wouldn’t Die, the documentary on Årabrot frontman’s Kjetil Nernes’ diagnosis and recovery from throat cancer, will receive its international premiere at the 100 Club on November 8 with a screenings of the film set to be accompanied by an Årabrot Speciale live performance.
Revolution of Sound: Tangerine Dream will be shown at the Barbican that same day for its UK premiere with the film looking over the influence of the group.
On November 13, Chasin’ Trane: The John Coltrane Documentary will be shown at the Royal Albert Hall’s Elgar Room, while Hello Hello Hello : Lee Ranaldo : Electric Trim will receive its UK premiere at Hackney Picturehouse on November 14. That film sees Ronaldo collaborate with Catalan producer and composer Raül Refree across a year and 3,842 miles, with a little help from their friends, such as Sharon Van Etten, Steve Shelley and Nels Cline of Wilco.
