Rvng Intl. To Release Ambient Compilation

Brooklyn-based label protests North Carolina's regressive LGBTQ laws with compilation to be made available at Moogfest, a festival in the state

Rvng Intl. will release an ambient compilation entitled Peaceful Protest tomorrow as part of North Carolina’s Moogfest. You can hear a track from it, called ‘KAK HOW’, by Moscow-based producer Kate NV above.

The festival asked the Brooklyn-based record label to put together a soundtrack for a meditation space at this year’s event, but the label went a step further, instead putting together a three-cassette compilation comprising the music that was submitted to them by a number of producers for the project. The compilation includes works from Raica, You’re Me, Baltra, Kate NV, Zach Cooper and C. Lavender.

The compilation has been put together with the intention of benefitting "other safe spaces in a state that has struggled to support gender equality". For example, HB2, otherwise known as the "bathroom bill" which limits transgender access to bathrooms was recently repealed and replaced by HB 142, a new law that still fails to provide equal representation and rights for the state’s transgender community. All proceeds from the compilation’s sale will go to the LGBTQ Center Of Durham.
