The websites of 25 UK music festivals will go dark for one day on Monday (May 8) in support of a new Safer Spaces campaign aiming to raise awareness of sexual assault at festivals.
The Safer Spaces campaign is run by the Association of Independent Festivals (AIF) and aims to make festival-goers aware of the on-site support facilities at festivals for victims of sexual assault. Among the festivals taking part in the campaign are Field Day, Bestival and Secret Garden Party.
More than 60 AIF members have also signed up to a charter of best practice, which aims to train festival staff and volunteers so that they can provide the right support to victims of sexual assault at festivals or direct them to those who can provide further support. You can find out more about the campaign here.
